to clear something up:

i can drive a manual. i have no trouble changing gears or doing a handbreak start.

i cannot however drive a car that requires three arms to turn the steering wheel at a reasonable speed. otherwise know as an '84 telstar. otherwise known as a car without power steering. otherwise referred to by my grandmother as the 'chuff-cutter' (because it sounds like ride on lawn mower)
